Bristol Rovers 2 - 1 Fleetwood Town Attendance: 10,088 (41 away) Rovers came from behind and scored two second-half goals to defeat Fleetwood Town in front of a packed Memorial Stadium. Rovers made three changes from the side that faced Peterborough United at the weekend, as Ellis Harrison, Byron Moore and Christian Montano were introduced to the starting line-up at the expense of Ollie Clarke, Rory Gaffney and Charlie Colkett. The visitors found themselves with an early lead when a defensive header by Jake Clarke-Salter rebounded kindly into the path of Ashley Hunter who was able to advance in the Rovers box before placing a powerful shot out of the reach of the outstretched Kelle Roos. Rovers responded when a long-range attempt from Matty Taylor swerved in the air and had to pushed away by Chris Neal, but the rebound fell just out the reach of the lurking Ellis Harrison. The chance was followed by an inviting delivery into the area from the left by Cristian Montano that had to be headed behind by the Fleetwood defence, with a number of Rovers players waiting inside the box. Patient build-up play by Rovers allowed Stuart Sinclair to angle a delicate chip over the Fleetwood defence that almost fell into the path of Matty Taylor but the striker wasn''t able to make contact with the ball and Fleetwood ''keeper Chris Neal was able to rush off his line to collect. On the thirty minute mark, a diagonal long ball was controlled with a neat touch on the left-wing by Cristian Montano and the winger was able to cut inside and fire a dangerous delivery into the box that was deflected behind for a corner. ''Keeper Kelle Roos was called into action when an interchange between Chris Long and Ashely Hunter on the edge of the area led to Hunter finding time to direct a shot at goal that was well stopped by the legs of Roos. The visitors had another threatening effort saved by Roos when forward Chris Long managed to skip past a number of challenges on the edge of the Rovers area and hit a driven effort on goal that Roos was equal to. Inside stoppage time in the first-half a looping header forward by Daniel Leadbitter was miscalculated by the Fleetwood defence which resulted in Matty Taylor finding himself in on goal. The forward was able to adjust his body and send a first time volley that was on target but his attempt was pushed away at the near post. Rovers started the second half brightly, with Cristian Montano picking up a loose ball down the left and directing a low-driven cross that was close to making contact with the onrushing Matty Taylor who had slid in at the far post. Another opportunity to pull the score level came when Daniel Leadbitter was able to dig out a cross on the right and his pass found Ellis Harrison unmarked in the area. The forward timed him leap well, but directed his header narrowly wide of the post. Rovers equaliser came when a neat touch by Daniel Leadbitter allowed the right-back the opportunity to cut inside the area and deliver an inviting cross into the box that was headed home from close range by Matty Taylor. Twelve minutes later Rovers were ahead when Cristian Montano produced a well-timed run into the box and when the winger received the ball inside the area to his feet he was able to compose himself before lifting a neat finish past Chris Neal in the Fleetwood goal. In the final exchanges, Rovers limited the visitors to few opportunities and were able to see out the remaining minutes with little threat to their goal, as the back four dealt well with the long ariel deliveries aimed into the Rovers area. Next up for Rovers is a trip to Crawley Town in the Emirates FA Cup this coming Saturday.
