A personal nightmare, i was serving in HM Forces stationed in Northumberland and had been working that day and couldn''t leave early. As soon as i could i grabbed my away shirt and jumped into my mk2 cavalier and headed down the A1 having looked at the map it appeared to be a short cut to go through Harrogate and Ripon but got stuck behind broken down buses and farm traffic and eventually emerged in Huddersfield, by the time i got to the ground it was half time and we were 2-3 down the turnstyles were closed but i managed to talk my way in for the second half an aldo hattrick and an irons goal secured the first leg win which was over in a flash. Unfortunatley in my rush to get in the ground i had left my lights on and returned to a flat battery. I decided to head into town and grab a burger before calling the AA but on leaving Mcdonalds i heard a large group of Halifax kids approaching i tried to avoid them but not having a coat only my away shirt i caught their attention, one through a road bollard which grazed my forhead another ran up and swung a punch which didnt connect as i ran into a pub over the road for shelter. I rang the AA and waited inside as they waited outside for me to leave one punter went out to talk to the gang who said they were after revenge having earlier had a run in wiyh some Tranmere fans, luckily their was no more incident!

Tranmere visits 1 W1 D0 L0 GF4 GA3. Total visits 2 other game v York. Only made the second half so missed five goals due to traffic problems left car lights on and had a flat battery then chased by a dozen Halifax hooligans not one of my best games
