We set off from Manchester to Stoke's Britannia Stadium at 11:30am. We got there an hour later, and made our way to the Delilah Bar, located on the corner of the ground at the Boothen Street end of the ground. The good news was that we were actually able to watch the Chelsea vs Arsenal match on BT Sport. You read right, the bar has live Premiership football! I also had my photo taken by the statues of Stoke City legends Gordon Banks and Sir Stanley Matthews. We entered the stadium at 2:40pm, and Stoke City started the game like a house on fire, going 2-0 after 20 minutes. The goals were scored by former Barcelona striker Bojan and a player who is disliked by many members of our family, Jon Walters. However, Stoke were unable to hold on, as a Riyad Mahrez penalty and a goal from Jamie Vardy got Leicester back on terms. Unfortunately for Stoke, despite chances from Marco van Ginkel and new signing Xheridan Shaqiri, the game ended 2-2. In terms of food, the half-time pies were spot-on, and to show our love for pies, we bought two! I have never seen a more volatile set of supporters than Stoke fans, one fan ripped his shirt off when Bojan scored, and did the same when Walters notched his strike. I was accompanied by my mum and my dad, and we all had a great time watching these two teams go at it like hammer and tongs. We WAS actually going to go to the nearby Harvester pub to wind down after the game. But when we got there, we found that it wasn't open. However, that couldn't dampen our spirits, and I'm pretty sure that we all have positive memories to take from this game.
