New Season & with the Football League celebrating 125 Yyears of League Football - how better than watching a game at one of only three remanining grounds left today that were used way back in 1888, Turf Moor. The game had added spice as the Clarets faced their local rivals Bolton Wanderers in the opening clash of the Championship (kickoff 12:15pm). An early start setting off from Bridlington at 7.30am - changing at Hull then Leeds & fianlly reaching Burnley Manchester Road at 11am. The intial plan was to follow the directions given from the Football ground Guide but ended up following the supporters from the station to the ground, unfortunely they all went into pubs, but didn''t panic and spotted a Burnley fan walking in town centre and managed to follow him and eventually saw the ground ahead, I had been before in car for a tour but had to watch a game to add to my 92 list. Situated in the Bob Lord Stand - i found my seat abit a wooden one and talked to some long time season ticket holders before game kicked off. Game kicked off after a showing of the 125th anniversary video of the Football League, with Burnley taking the lead before Bolton pulling back one before half time. Ended 1-1 and overall I had enjoyed my day until the travel back where I went onto the wrong platform and missed my 2.23pm train back - eventually arriving back in Bridlington at 8pm - an hour & half later than planned.
