This is one of the games where Burnley used a 'traditional' black and green halved shirt.
Players were barely visible when the crowd had black and/or green anoraks on. In this game we all moaned about a shocking pass to no-one when suddenly Gary Parkinson emeerged from camouflage and ran on to cross the ball. Burnley never won wearing that shirt.
Southend once, stupidly, rolled up at the Turf wth just their Burgundy away strip. They played in this black and green kit Burnley lent them and duly lost 5-1 with two men sent off.
Serves 'em right.
