Comments :
Took the car. Trains on strike and, anyway, only an hour in the car. And a lovely day for a drive with bright sunshine. Parked a short walk away and was at the ground in plenty of time. Scruffy little ground, all in all, but with a big new-looking clubhouse and bar area. The terraces and stands were ancient, though, and the stand seating so cramped it was impossible for anybody with a thigh length much more than 12 inches to sit straight. I tried. I gave up and stood. For all the mish-mash of tatty viewing areas the playing surface was superb and the football pretty good as well. Very competitive (as it always is at this level) and 'spicy' at times but riven through with flashes of high skill. The opening goal for Bromley was a beauty but surpassed by the truly excellent (training ground) corner routine that led to the equaliser. And after a good afternoon's entertainment it was an easy hour's drive back home and a very welcome glass of beer. p.s. - the purchased (very expensive) scarf is the thinnest construction I have ever encountered. I would suggest that in mid winter it is a scarf that could actually make your neck colder !!!!
