A trip to the seaside this weekend. May even get the chance to get the shorts on hire a deck chair, grab an ice cream and sit on the beach in the sun for a couple of hours before the match. No chance! This was quite possibly the coldest day of the year so far. We did have a walk around the town and stopped in to Wetherspoons'' Mary Shelley pub for breakfast and a cuppa. The pub is opposite St Peter''s Church where the authress of Frankenstein is buried. Percy Bysshe Shelley''s heart is also buried there. The rest of him is in Rome. After breakfast a walk on the pier seemed like a good idea. It wasn''t. The snow was coming in horizontally, the sky was leaden and the sea was very rough. Despite that some hardy souls still decided it would be a good idea to have a ride on the zip line which was suspended between a small tower on the pier, about 50 foot above the sea and finished on the beach a couple of hundred yards away. Fair play to them I say. After a bitterly cold hour and a half we headed back to the car and on toward the ground, finding a space in a nearby multi storey car park.
