Comments :
This was a crazy game. There were no subs in those days and Fulham lost their keeper. Who should go in goal but Rodney Marsh. Highpoint of the entertainment followed a poor through ball from Town, so poor that the forward turned to run back. Instead of picking the ball up (which is what keepers did in those days) Rod Marsh booted it. Unfortunately, he struck the retreating Northampton forward on the back of the head, the forward was concussed, the ball went straight up in the air and another Town forward latched onto it and scored. There were other idiocies, resulting in Town's best ever away win.
