Stayed the weekend in Thirsk so easy half hour drive to and from Middlesbrough in beautiful clear winter weather. Jack drove in ''The Truck''. Parked in town and walked 20 minutes along the river. Riverside stadium is great and they have the gates to Ayresome Park as a memorial out front. Nice touch. We in the Hardwick Bar and the food was simple but very good. The bar area was nice and the staff excellent: friendly and efficient. Good game too, especially second half when ''Boro started playing. Got cold towards the end but nothing too painful. On the walk back to the car we had the most spectacular evening sky I have probably ever seen. It was stunningly beautiful and capped a great football day. back to Thirsk for an excellent dinner and several more beers before bed and sleep with a broad smile.
