Hull City 1 Aug 1904 10 Feb 1907 Temp Hull City FC had hoped to use the Boulevard Ground of Hull RLFC as their home ground when they joined the Football League in 1905 but at the last moment the Rugby League authorities ordered that no paid admission could be taken at the ground for Association Football games and they had to utilize The Circle. Within a few months the Rugby League relented and the club was able to use the Boulevard Ground for occasional matches, the first one being switched in anticipation of a larger gate.

GROUND HISTORY adapted from "The Ultimate Directory of English & Scottish Football League Grounds"
Originally known as the Hull Athletic Ground, this Rugby League venue originally consisted of a covered grandstand on the north east side of an elongated oval arena. By the time that Hull City FC played their games here, a cycle track had been added, open seating installed at the north west end and alongside the grandstand and a covering built over the standing area on the south west side.

The venue remained in use as the home ground for Hull RLFC until September 20th, 2002 when the final match, v. Bradford Bulls, was played here prior to the club moving to the Kingston Communications Stadium to groundshare with Hull City FC. The Boulevard Ground was retained by Kingston upon Hull City Council for junior and youth RFL matches and, during 2003 it was also proposed to stage greyhound racing here.
