Comments :
First game of the season, Town were newly relegated and nearly out of bsuiness altogether. A last minute deal by the rugby league club chairman/owner Ken Davy meant we could start the season, just! Newly appoinyed manager Peter Jackson put together a team of initially rag tag players who did get us promoted. However, the 2-2 draw was a fair start to the season. A big ginner scored two for Cambridge, who since then has had a reasonable career round the Prem and Championship clubs!!
