A relatively strong Town side beat Silsden 5:0 at Keighley's Cougar Park to progress to the semi-finals of the West Riding County Cup. Two goals each from Alex Meechan and Craig Midgley ensured a comprehensive win for the Shaymen, with local youngster Lee Tuck adding a fifth in only his second senior game for Town. Defender Mark Monington started the game as expected, and completed an hour before being replaced by youth player Niall O'Brien, in what was his first senior appearance for the Shaymen. Silsden, the competition's lowest ranked side, had reached the quarter-final stage thanks to victories over Harrogate Town (4:2) and Garforth Town (3:2), while Town overcame Goole in the last round.
