The game was an FA Cup 2nd Round Replay after the first match ended goal less. It saw Halifax Town record their highest ever full competitive scoreline.   The goals were scored by Hutchinson (2), Atkins, Taylor (2), Parks (2).   Bishop Auckland were managed at the time by Lawrie McMenamie.
