What a scruffy little dump this place is. A muddy scrap of land in amongst housing estates with a corrugated iron fence and a couple of stands. None of it was helped by the appalling weather with torrential rain showers fired along by gale force winds. I was just happy the game went ahead and I can see now why so many of the games here get postponed. I have to say, though, that the playing surface itself wasn't that bad. In fact far better quality than the rubbish football happening on top of it. Sadly, all in all, poor fare from two teams justifiably fighting relegation. With both the weather and football deteriorating still further I decided to leave early and walk back into Salisbury (3 miles) to warm up ready for the pantomime. Sleeping Beauty at the Salisbury Playhouse: brilliant and significantly more professional and enjoyable than the football.
