Match no. 1422. A solid performance and another good win for Borough. There were multiple stoppages where players were treated for injuries on the field, including one for the referee, who had to be replaced by one of his assistants. This led to 10 minutes added on at the end of the first half and another 11 minutes at the end of the second. Coupled with an unexplained half-time break of 20 minutes, the game did not end until 5.15pm! The fact that the exact amount of time for stoppages is now added on seems to have resulted in a mindset where all injuries are treated on the field and there is no urgency from the officials in getting the game started again. This was only the fourth time I''ve seen Shrewsbury play despite them being involved in Match no. 3 (12.10.1963 v Spurs Reserves). The other two were both v Orient in 1970 and 1981. The bad news for Shrewsbury is that they''ve lost all four with a goal aggregate of 1-8!
