Originally planned to do the Curzon game a fortnight before but the weather put paid to that as it did for the original date for this game on the Saturday, three days later we got a game. Arrived early enough to grab pub food from the nearby bell inn but too late to look around town.£15 entry low tempo first half with few chances but the hosts went in at the break one up after a half cleared corner possibly deflected shot (williams 27)wrong footing the keeper. Bognor equalised with the first effort on target glancing a heading in from a cross from the left into the right inside netting(crane 52). A triple substitution upped the tempo and the puritans regained the lead when a shot(Rasulo 63)was dummied by another Banbury player passing through his legs and fooling the keeper. Half the Bognor team surrounded the ref claiming offside but i thought it was ok. Not so for the third minutes later, the linesman didn''t look up with play and his vision blocked by two away players with the home player looking offside at the time. The flag stayed down and a square pass took out the keeper and left a tap in(Rasulo 66). Bognor weren''t finished and pulled a goal back with a carbon copy of their first a glancing header from a left wing cross(Gifford 84). The momentum appeared to be theirs but a keeper mistake with a loose pass intercepted the resulting shot only parried out to the edge of the box where the follow up was fired home low to the left(Acquaye 89) Four minutes added time saw a third goal with another parried shot with the follow up powerfully beating the covering defender on the line deflecting into the roof of the net(De St Croix 90+4). One last chance could of taken it into penalties but the deep cross was hit into the side net.
