Unfortunately Bournemouth manager Scott Parker fielded a weak side as the EFL had scheduled a full set of league fixtures for 3/4 days later. This was a pity, but it takes nothing away from Boreham Wood''s tremendous victory against a team three levels above them. They were physical with their two centre-halves ''taking no prisoners''. David Stephens looked like a heavyweight boxer, even down to the massive shorts. He missed nothing in the air and rarely missed an opportunity to put in an old-fashioned tackle from behind. I liked the stadium. It is very small of course but very tidy. My seat in the Main Stand gave me an excellent view of the action and you are closer to the action here than at most league grounds. Elevation wasn''t bad either. Very friendly home supporters and stewards. Parked at Avonbourne College on Harewood Ave, as recommended on club''s website. 15 minute walk from the ground. Handy for getting away after the game too. This was Part 2 of a double header as I had seen Southampton v Coventry in the Cup the day before. All in all a good weekend and good to be able to tick off one of the grounds it''s difficult to get a ticket for (Bournemouth).
