My friend had arranged to come over from Ireland to watch Man City v Chelsea.Unfortunately we overlooked the fact that the match may be re-arranged if Chelsea reached the League Cup Final which they did.So where to go as an alternative - Accrington was the preferred choice and whilst the ground was small it was homely. We paid at the turnstiles and stood at the wall by the touchline opposite the main stand. The game was hard fought and the players certainly gave 100%.The stadium did lack atmosphere and whilst the name of the team is quite famous it did make me wonder what it would have been like to see them play at their original stadium long since gone.
