West Ham produced a special programme, there was a minute''s silence before kick-off and a huge floral tribute in the form of a West Ham no. 6 shirt was laid in the centre circle by Ron Greenwood, Martin Peters and Geoff Hurst. In the days when teams still wore nos. 1 to 11, West Ham retired the no. 6 shirt for the day with Ian Bishop wearing no. 12. A very emotional day.
