Pre match standings: both teams played 15. Hull City 24th/ 12 points. WBA 5th/ 25 points. A fairly easy trip today with the coaches leaving The ''Thorns at about 10:15 for the two and half hour (or thereabouts) journey via the M6, A38, M1 and M18 to the northern port City of Kingston Upon Hull. I do enjoy these journeys. Not so much the hours spent travelling in the coach but the driving through different areas of the country I''ve never been to. Always something new to look at. Today we crossed a narrow stretch of the Humber before following alongside it and under the huge expanse of the Humber Bridge, past the ships in the docks being loaded and on through the town to the KCOM Stadium.
The league positions of the two teams should suggest a Baggies win. However West Brom gained most of their points in the early part of the season with Gayle and Barnes on fire. Recent games though have seen poor performances and the Baggies have had a poor run with one win, two draws and two defeats in the last five league games, one of which was a 4-1 mauling at home to Derby County. Could today''s game turn it around? Hull City are second bottom having won only three and lost nine of their games so far. However the Tigers had a good away win at Bolton last week so they might just fancy their chances against a below par West Brom today.// End of Season:- Hull City finished 13th with 62 points.
