Comments :
Went with Dave. Drove down (in Vee's Vulva) to Burcot , a quick lunch then off to the match. It rained hard on the drive there but stopped as we arrived and stayed dry throughout - even a little bit of sun poking through at the end. Funny ground. Under-developed mostly but with a reasonable and large clubhouse and then a large open area between that and the pitch. A few seats on either side huddled under low sheds with huge supporting pillars (making it very difficult to see) but most people apparently standing. And so much space around that the 357 crowd seemed even thinner, spread over such a large area. The game was fast and furious. Dave was impressed with the athleticism and the skill levels. But is was pretty clear who was going to win (and who wasn't) after about 3 minutes. That was when the first Havant goal went in. Oxford not helped by the goalie clearly carrying a dodgy knee. Surprised he lasted to half time (when he was subbed). But Oxford lads kept at it right tot he final whistle - even having a goal chalked off late on by a narrow off-side. Then it was time for Dave and me to chug off back to Burcot for another excellent Miranda meal and oodles and oodles of red wine and chatter. Another jolly good day all in all.
