Comments :
I discovered just before I was setting off that the match at Goole was postponed due to floodlight failure. So I quickly checked and found this Shirebrook match to go to instead. It took an hour to get there via the motorway and a ten mile stretch of country roads. Once in Shirebrook I found a fish and chip shop and got a dinner kebab with chips close to the ground. Having eaten that I was 10 minutes late going in and had actually missed two goals. I needed the toilet but there were no lights and only urinals in the gents. I used the disabled toilet instead with the torch function on my iPhone as a temporary light. Afterwards I made my way to a rickety stand called the Jim Pepper stand. I decided to watch from a standing position further along. Another two goals were scored by Shirebrook which put the match well beyond the reach of Rossington. The pitch was a little broken up so not easy conditions to play on. A penalty was awarded to Rossington which seemed controversial since Rossington were the team being dirty with their tackling. So it was 4-1 at half time. Going to this match was not the best thing to do for my cold! That is how the match finished because in the second half no further goals were scored. I watched it from a seat in the Jim Pepper stand. It had been a very cold evening and it was good to warm up in my car on the way home.
