| I have bad memories of this game as my main memory is of bottles being thrown between the supporters. I do also remember the Reading goalies long kicks and a Sunderland fan running onto the pitch at 4-0 down as the goalie (Steve Mautone according to programme) was taking a goal kick and the fan kicked the ball into the net so I always think of this as a 4-1 defeat! I have been to the Madejski Stadium 5 times but they were all London Irish v Gloucester games!
