My wife, Jen, was pottery hunting so I got dropped off outside the Victoria. A brilliant game. The Stoke lot were worried as they had just sold Stein to Chelsea. They need not have been.
On this game I went in the Boothen End and enjoyed the atmosphere.  -
On  - a   - previous  - visit here in 1964 Stoke beat Ipswich 9-1. Burnley''s greatest -ever, Jimmy McIlroy, scored two as did ex-Rover Peter Dobing. John Ritchie (Retchee?) got three, I think. However the best goal was scored by Broadfoot of Ipswich.
  -
Also saw Arsenal win 3-1 here around the same time.  - 23 goals in three games!   -
