Left home at at about 13:20 with Dad and Joseph and went in the car to Woking. Parked the car in the leisure centre car park opposite the ground and got in the ground at about 14:20. Walked around the ground taking pictures etc before sitting down in the family stand along the touchline. The stand behind the goal was very impressive and nice modern seating but the stand we sat in was an awful run down wooden stand with seats without a back. The stand will need doing up if the club has any ambitions of getting in the league. The game itself was up there with the most entertaining I've seen this season if not through my time of watching football. Both sides wanted to win the game and both wanted to get the ball down and get at their opposition. Woking took the lead around about the 20th minute through a strange goal. The ball was played down the channel and most of the players seemed to stop thinking that it was offside only for the Woking winger to chip the ball into the goal. Maidstone got back into the game about 5 mins later through a deflected strike from outside the box which tricked the goalkeeper and went into the bottom corner. About 10 mins Woking took the lead again through their big number 9. He dribbled past a couple of players on the edge of the area before seeing his shot end up in the bottom corner. Both sides were still looking to get hold of the ball and attack the other which ensured that it continued to be a cracking game. Around about 40 mins Maidstone were awarded a penalty which looked like it was a stonewall which enabled them to make it 2-2. Within a minute of the re-start Maidstone got hold of the ball again and sent it down the channel for Joe Pigott to lift it over the Woking goalkeeper. Maidstone went in at HT 3-2 up. The 1st 25 mins of the 2nd half was just as entertaining as Woking levelled about 5 mins into the 2nd half after good work from their number 9 again before it was smashed home to make it 3-3. Only about 5 mins later, Maidstone went and took the lead again through a corner. The goalscorer wasn't picked up on the edge of the penalty area from a corner and he drilled his shot into the corner to make it 4-3. About 5-10 later Woking scored the last goal of the game with another shot from the edge of the area to make it 4-4. The game died off for about 10-15 mins as Maidstone seemed to settle for a draw but the game came to life again in the last 10-15 mins with Woking dominating the ball looking to get the 9th goal of the game. They had a goal disallowed and one flick which went just wide in the last minute but the game ended up 4-4 with a point probably being a fair result. A cracking game that shows that non league football deserves much more attention than it gets. Got in the car and got back at about 18:00.
