Not a lot good happened this day unfortunately! Picked Hibs up at 05.40am (after being up gritting at Mildenhall all night) and was given a bacon roll which was happy days and then met Barnard and Bomber at my parents. The 6hr train journey was alright down there and we had a good laugh on the train and the journey passed by rather quickly. We then watched Shay Given beat Middlesborough on his Man City debut, with a great performance in goal. We were then hearded on to a bus to the ground and dropped off within yards of the stadium entrance. This must be the only football Stadium in Great Britian where the police and security officers out weigh the supporters of both sides, combined! The match was terrible and we lost 3-0. Then hearded back to within yards of the station entrance. The journey home seemed a great deal longer, with nothing to really read or scenery to look at, it dragged from Swansea to Padington. KFC, Burger Kings and Bagettes helped the last piece of the journey pass and a roudy Jason Beasley and (I ve never been this far away from home!) Martin Brett provided some laughs from ipswich to Stow. It was then to bed for two hours before getting up (and feeling terrible) to head back to gritting. Its not that great being a Town fan sometimes!

We with Hibbs, Pagey and Leeeeeeeeee on the 06.29 train for Stow and dispite the bad weather we made it down to South Wales by around 13.15. Straight into the pub nearest the station and then police escorted to the ground via a series of gates which seemed strange but then we were in Wales !! Swansea played really well and deserved the win and scoreline, as for Town, well we just didn''t turn up again ! Escorted back to station immediatley after the final whistle and managed to get back to Stow by Midnight. I thought my eyes were decieving me when we pulled up at Ipswich station and saw who I thought was Mr Martin I never leave Stow Brett !! and true enough it was the old bugger !! I cant remember the last time I was awake for 20 hours straight ! Must be getting old !

What can I say trips like this really seperate the men from the boys, the avid supporter to the part timer, the fucking idiots to the sensible ones in the human race.
I'm so knackered from another hard week at work that I sleep though my alarm twice and get up at 05:10 rather than 04:50, giving me 30 mins to have a shit, shave and a shower before Pagey picks me up. Had time to do all but the former and when giving the big man a call to see if he's hungry, he of course wants bacon sarni's to set him up for the long journey ahead and of course I delve into one also, mindful of the fact that I'm gonna want to go for a pony at some point!!
Anyway Pageys punctual for once, so I pick myself up after fainting at the pure astonishment and start the journey, just hoping I can get to Stow without having a sudden call of nature. Mission complete and surprisingly it ain't until we'd got to London, had some pancakes in Macky's D's (more food - natures gotta call soon) and beers on the train on the last stretch to Swansea, until I drop the kids off on quite a decent throne at the first buidling you see outside Swansea station, a well placed public house. Watched City fluke a win v Boro all thanks to Shay Given and so far so good day wise.
Off to ground chatted to some GILF whilst texting inappropriate comments to Pagey, shit game (enough said about that) and back on the bus to do long journey home. Had a little bit of argy bargy on the bus with some ITFC mug, who think he runs our mob - PRICK!! Good shout by bomber to risk getting on half 5 home rather than the half 6, even though I was famished but eventually got back to London, after plenty of Arrowwords passing the time s..l..o..w..l..y.....
KFC was good though and made last leg of journey go a touch quicker and nearly had a nose bleed when we discovered that Martin I am so under the thumb it's embarassing Brett is seen getting on the last train home from Ipswich after a lash up with Beasley etc.

Another extremely long day!  - Got up at 5am and was still eating my porridge when Steve picked me up at 5:45!  - Met up with Pagey and Hibs in Stow and after grabbing some stuff from Dillons caught the 6:29 to London.  - Spent alot of the journey doing Arrowword puzzles and it went quickly and we soon arrived.  - Made our way accross to Paddington and had a bit of time to spare there before catching the connection train. Had some breakfast and them had the long train journey ahead.  -
  -
This leg of the journey also went really quick, spent alot of it reading the paper and again doing arrowwords.  - It was visable just how heavy it had been snowing the previous few days with all the snow on the fields.  - As we got into Wales it was evident the changes in accent and the more undulating landscape.  - Went past the Millenium stadium in Cardiff which looked quite imposing.  - Arrived at Swansea and went out of the station and straight into a bar opposite.  - There were loads of Ipswich in there and handily the Man City game was on the TV.  - Overheard some guy say that the Swansea firm had approached him and tried to arrange a meet, apparently he wasn''t interested.  - Watched the City game and saw Shay Given make an outstanding debut.  - Bellamy grabbed a goal and gave City a 1-0 win.  - There were loads of police and they were being rather heavy handed towards one or two town fans.
  -
There was a police escorted Bus convoy to the ground from outside the bar, they clearly didn''t want Town fans walking it and I can understand why.  - I gotta say this is by far the most intimidating place I ever visited for football.  - There was loads of heckling by Swansea fans as the bus passed.  - It only stopped right next to the away section and parked behind big metal gates which closed behind us.  - Once in the ground had a great big burger and made the way to the seats.  -   - The ground was quality inside and was surprised to hear it only holds 18000.  - Swansea were the best team I have seen at that level for a long time and they played neat
