My planned lift didn''t materialise, the official coach was full and my mobile had broken!! Things weren''t looking good. I came up with a plan b having heard the trust coach may have spaces I headed to the ground sometime after 6am but had picked Alloa v raith as a backup game to drive to if all else failed the trust coach was full but a space became available on the official one to my relief. Having been to plainmoor four times prior and having seen tranmere win there twice I had considered jibbing the fixture off this season however as it was the opening game of the season and with some positive vibes abounding I''d reneged. Once on the road however news soon filtered in of road chaos on the m5 with an overturned Lorry. The journey was truly hellish the coach was boiling with no aircon and stop start traffic. Once there I waited for a mate off the other coach and got tickets for the seated stand. Unfortunately the game was akin to last seasons ending goalless, tranmere had the best chances hitting the woodwork twice and forcing one save from a fierce drive however we were to finish with nine men. Buxton lunged into a tackle winning the ball but hurting their player, I don''t like these tackles but he did get the ball fairly if recklessly initially the ref didn''t award a foul until the Torquay players kicked off and a yellow card was brandished. Down the far end the debate went on between mcnulty and a Torquay player resulting in both receiving yellows unfortunately it was mcnultys second. Down to ten the game improved and we still looked the more likely to score until a through ball to the halfway line saw Norwood swing an elbow and catch the full back full in the head a straight red. Whilst we still looked fairly comfortable the odds on us winning had gone and so to the long long trip home...
