Comments :
On holiday in the north so took the opportunity to take in a new ground close by. Turned out to be a 280 mile round trip, but worth going to. A couple of Wovles connections, Kenny Miller playing for Rangers and Mark McGhee managing the 'well added to the interest. I sat with the Motherwell fans who were a friendly and passionate crowd. I kept my head down though when they retorted to the Rangers chants of Rule Britannia with "you're in the wrong f***ing country. They also took the mickey out of Kirk Broadfoot (who didn't have a bad game), quite a bit but interestingly they did this by just chanting his surname which made me laugh. The game itself was played at 100 miles an hour but had plenty of excitement. Miller had 3 good chances but the Motherwell keeper was in excellent form. Well finished stronger and they had the best player on the field with their midfielder Lasley, though Pedro Mendes was a class act for Rangers.
