Thomas gave Dover the lead witha free header that appeared to bounce over Davies in the Tranmere goal before Cook equalised with a tap in from six yards after Tollitt had a great run and dribble before putting the ball on a plate, halftime 1-1. Second half Cook got his second after a period of Tranmere pressure a diagnal run across the edge of the box before a low reverse shot found the opposite corner, it was soon three as Dover keeper Walker let a Tranmere corner slip through his fingers when a catch seemed easy. Tollitt rounded off the scoring lashing a fierce shot into the roof of the net from 12 yards. Both sides had chances to increase the scoring but the super white army left happy with four goals to savour on the long journey home.
