Went with Rich Armes to watch Norwich take on the World's Tallest Men, drinking at the Riverside Spoons before the game, the Red Lion after. At the start of this season, I relinquished my Chelsea membership to support Norwich through their first season in the top division in six years. Long throw in specialist Rory Delap was thankfully missing so Stoke lacked their most famous threat, but Norwich's naivety at this level, with their squad of young players unproven at this level, showed after losing a tentative 1-0 lead in injury time - Kenwyne Jones' height provided a threat all game. Paul Lambert showed his tactical versatility, switching from this side's preferred diamond to a 4-4-2 - in the following league game against Chelsea, he sprung a 3-4-1-2. Although taciturn, he is surely talented enough to manage at a higher level than Norwich.
