Of all the good results I could have included - this was actually the first time I went to Charlton as a 15 year old. Best remembered for the best goal that never was that I have ever seen. Mickey Henderson running virtually the full length of the pitch before rifling a shot into the top corner. A goal that was disallowed for offside. Sunderland striker, Wayne Entwistle in an advanced offside position when Henderson scored. We were winning 2-1 and very comfortable. Derek Hales and I think Micky Flanagan scored one apiece and we lost 3-2. We stayed with family friends in Hayes before going on holiday, flying from Heathrow. Great way to start the holiday.
