| Was in St Helens visiting family, and decided, only that afternoon, with my brother, that we''d go along and see if we could get in to see this European Cup Semi-Final. We just turned up, less than an hour before kick-off, and paid 95p on the turnstile after hardly queuing at all to watch from the Kop (all standing at the time) as Liverpool annihilated their opponents 4-0. Jim Beglin got the last goal at the Kop End. From before kick-off, the visiting fans filled the opposite end with green flags and banners and clouds of green smoke.
In the Final in Brussels Liverpool lost their cup, and British clubs were banned from European football for 5 years.

Went with my mate Paul and his Dad, Stood in the kop an got crushed! Whined a lot until Pauls Dad shepparded me in front of him and pushed back against the barrier in front. Paul wound me up for years after saying it was because i was crying! Wark, Rush(2) and Beglin got the goals with the away end being an impresive sea of green smoke and flares
