Went with Craig on this Friday night. Picked Craig up at 7 and made our way to the postcode I had for the ground. Arrived where the sat nav said only for no sign of the ground. Craig looked up a postcode from another source only to find out the ground was some 6 miles away. Just made it in time and parked up as the game kicked off. Very basic little ground with 1 small stand. Stood behind the goal and played ball boy for much of the 1st half. Brightlingsea were so obviously the better side and dominated the ball. Cornard were bottom of the league with only 2 wins all season and you could see why, however somehow they scored a flukey goal against the break and then got another against the run of play. So 2-0 to Cornard at half time and it certaily wasn''t a fair reflection. The 2nd half soon changed with Brightlingsea continue to play well, they started opening up the home side at well and after a goal keeping error got a goal back. That breakthrough signalled what was to follow for the rest of the game, total dominance from the visitors. 3 quick goals followed from Brightlingsea and after being 2-0 down at half time were 2-4 up after 20 minutes of the 2nd half. The only surprise really was that they didn''t score more. The right back for Cornard was truly shocking and really shouldn''t be playing at any level other than friendly. The 3rd goal for Brightlingsea was decent the forward cutting in from the right beating a man and then curling a left foot shot into the far corner from 18 yards. All in all a reasonable friday night trip.
