Match no. 1460: Having won their first two games Stevenage had already qualified for the knockout round and this win guaranteed them first place in the Group. Borough went 3-0 ahead through an own goal when a shot hit the crossbar and rebounded in off goalie Lee (9 minutes) followed by goals from Malcolm (24) and Patterson (37). Palace pulled one back before half-time with a looping header from King (42) and reduced the arrears to 3-2 through Rodney (72) but Patterson, who was excellent down the left-wing, scored another fine goal (77) to make it 4-2 and Orford, who also had two assists, wrapped it up in added time (90+1). An enjoyable and entertaining game.
