With Birmingham City not having a match, I decided to buy a ticket for this game as they were priced at just £10.00 and it was also a day out. I travelled up to Reading by train via Fratton & Basingstoke, arriving about 12.30pm, it was a wet day so I headed out of Reading station and turned right, just a minutes walk away is the Greyfriars pub where I had a drink. Having lived for most my life in Stourbridge I knew alot of West Brom supporters and ended up having a chat to Albion fan in the pub. I then went for a pint in The Gateway pub next door where I had a good chat to a Reading season ticket holder. The match day buses to the stadium leave from just over the road, the bus was packed and it seemed to take for ever to get there, add the £4.00 return fare, would certainly put me of going to watch Reading on a regular basis. The Madejski Stadium was ok, the atmosphere was very good with both homde and away supporters making plenty of noise. With Reading sealing victory 3-1 I left straight after the third goal in injury time in order to catch an early bus back to the City centre which left before the traffic build up. I went in The Three Guineas for a drink just before they stopped letting anybody else in, before making my way home stopping of in Winchester for a few drinks.
