Two goals from Shane Ferguson helped Millwall to easily see off Colchester. Lee Gregory opened the scoring for the hosts when he comfortably fired past keeper Jamie Jones before then being denied a second by hitting the post. Ferguson netted his first with a low shot, before Colchester substitute Chris Porter struck from inside the box to reduce the deficit. Ferguson added his second from close range before Byron Webster's shot was deflected in to make it 4-1.
