Saturday 20th Oct took us to Morecambe''s Globe Arena where the visitors were Southend Utd.We left a little earlier today. The main reason was so we could find a nice little fish&chip cafe in Lancaster. We found one called Market Street Cafe where both Luke and I ordered our fish&chips and ate them inside. With bellies full we headed back to Lancaster Station to catch the train for the remaining short journey to Morecambe. On arrival in Morecambe we had a pleasant 20 minute walk in the sun to the ground. We made our way to the club shop to buy our tickets which cost a reasonable £22 for both of them, once again in the Family Enclosure,4 rows from the front in line with the penalty area.We had a perfect view. The players were warming up and Luke had the nerve to ask some of the Morecambe players for their autographs on his programme.Although we weren''t too familiar with the players it still gave Luke a bit of joy and he returned to me with a smile on his face. The Morecambe crowd standing behind the goal were quite loud and supportive to their team.20 minutes or so into the game Morecambe substitute Jordan Burrow began warming up in front of us and Luke decided he wanted his autograph too and interrupted the player''s sprinting exercise to ask him.Jordan very kindly obliged.I thought that was a great gesture by the player.Thank you Morecambe players you made him very happy. The game was fast and furious but it was not until the 89th minute that the home side made the breakthrough when Jack Redshaw netted the only goal of the game. Most of the 1,643 crowd went berserk.Morecambe made things more difficult for themselves when sub Richard Broudie was sent off in injury time but fortunately for them they held on for the victory.Time for the journey home and by 7.30pm we were walking through our front door with a hot deserving meal ready and enjoyed.Another fine day?Programme £3
