Constructed on a greenfield site, Scunthorpe United FC moved to Glanford Park from the Old Show Ground in 1988. The ground has a continuous part cantilever and propped roof which, when built, originally covered seated stands on each side of the pitch and terracing at each end. The south end was converted to a 1,678 seat stand in 1990 and the capacity at the start of the 2007/8 season was 9,200 with 6,400 seats. The pitch size was 111 x 73 yards.
