GROUND HISTORY adapted from "The Ultimate Directory of English & Scottish Football League Grounds"
Although no map exists, from contemporary accounts an accurate diagram of the ground can be constructed. The facilities included a covered seated stand, removed from Rotherham Town FC’s previous ground at the Clifton Lane Cricket Ground and re-erected on the north side, and an open seated stand installed at the east end. Located to the east of the town centre and occupying part of the south east corner of Clifton Grove and Middle Lane the ground opened with a Midland League match against Grantham Rovers FC on September 26th, 1891.

The highest attendance was the 4-5,000 at the game v Wednesbury Old Athletic on April 30th, 1892, which Rotherham Town won 4-1 to clinch the Midland League championship. Following the demise of the club in 1896 the site was redeveloped for housing.
