Located in Dagenham on the west side of Rainham Road [A1112], Victoria Road has existed as a sports ground since 1917, when it was used by the Sterling Works football team, whose factory was adjacent to the north side. The venue remained very basic, with just a pavilion at the east end, until well after WWII and was not fully enclosed until the summer of 1955 when Briggs Sports FC moved out to Rush Green Road and Dagenham FC moved in from The Arena. Improvements made at that time included the levelling and re-seeding of the pitch and extension of the banking and terracing. By this time the only cover was a small steep and narrow wooden stand which possessed a few seats but on January 7th, 1956 an 800 seater main stand was opened on the south side and in 1958 a cover was erected on the north side. No further improvements were made until 1990 when Redbridge Forest FC arrived to groundshare and built a new stand at the west end of the ground, on the south side and replaced the grass banking at the west end with concrete terracing.
