Accrington Stanley FC was reformed following a meeting at the Bold Street Working Menβs Club in 1968 and the Crown Ground acquired in the same year. Located in the north of the town at the corner of Livingstone and Whalley Roads the venue had been in use as a sports field for Ewbanks and the only facility was a pavilion in the south west corner.
The first improvement, a small stand, was built on the south side in the early 1970s but problems with the pitch forced the club to play some home games during the 1972/3 and 1975/6 seasons at Peel Park and a permanent move back to the old venue was considered but rejected. Two stands were installed on the north side in 1988 but it was not until 1984 that Β£40,000 was finally spent in a successful attempt to improve the pitch. Major improvements, including the construction of a 1,000 seat cantilever roofed main stand at the west end of the south side, took place in 1994 and the terracing behind the goals was improved and enlarged in 2001. The main stand was extended in 2002 and the capacity at the end of the 2006/7 season was 5,057 with 1,200 seats.
The record attendance of 4,368 was set at the FA Cup 3rd Round tie v. Colchester United (0-0) on January 3rd, 2003 and the ground was renamed as The Interlink Express Stadium in July of the same year and, for the dΓ©but season in the Football League, it became known as the Fraser Eagle Stadium. The pitch size was 111 x 72 yards.

- The Crown Inn on Whalley Road which virtually overlooks the ground offers a warm welcome to all supporters for banter, swapping stories and a good chat before and after the game. The Crown has a spacious beer garden, pool table and shows live sport on the big screen and this where we meet for the game.
The Whitakers Arms it is situated just 200 yards away from the Old Peel Park ground 322 Burnley Road. They do a selection of home cooked meals in the pub or restaurant and have great facilities including pool table, beer garden, sky sports, darts and lots more besides. Walking distance from ground is about 20 minutes, in a car about 5 minutes.
The Grey Horse is just 2 minutes walk from the ground serving a wide selection of drinks all day.
- If driving
- Leave the M6 at Junction 29 and take the M65 towards Blackburn. Continue past Blackburn towards Accrington and leave the M65 at Junction 7. Then take the first exit at the roundabout onto the A6185 towards Clitheroe, at the first set of traffic lights turn right onto Blackburn Road/A678, towards Padiham, and then at the next traffic lights, turn right onto the A680 towards Accrington.
After about half a mile along the A680 you will see the Hare & Hounds pub on your left take a right into Whalley Road, and then take the next left into Livingstone Road and then an immediate left for the Club Car Park. The car park is of a reasonable size and is free, however as you would expect it fills up pretty quickly or otherwise street parking around the ground.

- Accrington Rail Station is about a mile away from the ground. Leave the station and travel down King Street towards the large viaduct roundabout, then take the Milnshaw Lane exit at the opposite side of the roundabout past Aldi store then turn left at the next junction into Whalley Road, follow Whalley Road for about a mile, passing the Grey Horse Pub, hospital and then a mini roundabout. Take the next right after the mini roundabout junction into Livingstone Road. The football club is approximately 100 metres on the left on Livingstone Road.
