I was in the South and decided to pull in the Luton. When I got to the turnstile I could not get a ticket and joined a gang of Albion fans in the same predicament. Acting as spokesman, I approached a steward, who told me that if a Luton fan would buy a ticket for us  that was OK. I therefore started chatting to a reasonable-looking Luton fan who purchased a ticket for me, with my  cash of course, in acompletely different part of the ground from where he sat. Inside the ground the whole corner was filled with Baggies fans. Crazy.   A year or so later the Luton local paper put out an appeal to save the club, which was in financial difficulties. As I appreciated Luton as one of the earliest standard-bearers for football in the South I sent the cost of a stand ticket. Next season the cheeky sods did the double over us!   Luton are surely doomed this season but I think, and hope they will be back soon.
