So many memories of my first away Black Country derby. THe SMethick End was packed as Wolves had finally made it back into the top divisions. Albion had sold us Steve Bull who had been a revelation in the lower leagues, the first player in 60 years to score 50 in 2 consecutive seasons. The noise was incredible, but Albion had the better of the game and opend the scoring through Talbot. As half time approached the referee inexplicably gave us a free-kick when the Albion Keeper Naylor was penailsed for steps. The ball was passed to Robbie who struck a sweet equaliser. I can't remeber much more about the second half until the final few minutes, Buly had had a quiet game, it really felt as though the Albion fans baiting throughout the amtch had got to him. In the 89th mintue, Mutchy breaks down the right, he puts accross a perfect ball to bully who's pulled away from his marker at the far post. He chests the ball dwon, time seems to stand still and then he strikes a sweet left volley into the net. Pandamonium ! It took me days to come down from the high. Wolves were back !
