The first ever competitive game at the Reebok.   This game is famous for Nathan Blake's  'goal' - a cross came over and Blake headed the ball goalwards only for Terry Phelan to clear it off the line. TV replays later showed the ball had crossed the line.   At the end of the season Bolton were relegated - they finished level on points with Everton but had an inferior goal difference.   (In my opinion Nathan Blake fouled Southall before heading the ball goalwards so even if it had gone in it still shouldn't have counted - that's my story and I'm sticking to it !)

First game at the Reebok... scoreline should read 1-0 Bolton to be honest.
