Match no. 807. Newcastle were 9 points clear of Man Utd at the top of the table going into this game so a great win for the Hammers with goals from Tony Cottee and Danny Williamson. At the final whistle I switched on my transistor radio (those were the days!) to hear the BBC reporter at the game say What a great result..............for Manchester United! I immediately switched it off again! In the event, of course, Newcastle did blow their big lead and Man U won the title by 4 points.
