Another very eventful occassion. My mate Wilf had just passed his driving test whilst i still hadn''t the pleasure. This was the first time he had driven outside of North Wales and to say he wasn''t prepared was an understatement! Firstly his gold ford escort mk2 overheated in Stoke as he''d forgotten to check the water then we got stuck in traffic on a Nottingham bypass before the car broke down in the ''fast'' lane, the traffic eventually peeterd away with a bike copper telling us to move it we managed to bump start it by which time he wanted to go home! I managed to convince him to continue but we struggled to find parking but to our relief some lads claiming to be Notts county fans said we could have their speck as they were going. we rushed to the ground getting in a few minutes late, the stand out fact i think was it was ian rush'' first game since returning from Juventus again the open terraces were packed with the view quite poor. When we returned to the car we found a note stating they hoped we had had a good evening but our thoughtless parking had ruined theirs, wilf had managed to block a driveway. Enough drama? no chance next we got lost in derby having missed the bypass then he got confused at a roundabout and when i told him we needed to go straight on he drove over the workmans roundabout and lastly once on the M6 he took the first exit signed Chester and we ended up driving around country lanes trying to find our way home in the wee hours...it wasnt to be our last adventure involving football matches either but thats another story!!
