Match no. 64. First visit to Filbert Street and first West Ham away game outside London. Very exciting game that was on Match of the Day that evening. Wet, gloomy day, mudheap of a pitch. After 8 minutes Trevor Brooking scored a wonderful goal, gliding over the mud and past tackles before slipping the ball past Shilton. Svarc equalised for Leicester on 22 minutes and Frank Large put them 2-1 ahead 3 minutes before half-time. Brian Dear made it 2-2 ten minutes into the second half. John Sissons scored direct from a corner on 64 minutes before Dear settled it with his second 3 minutes from time. He had therefore scored 5 goals v Leicester in the Christmas double-header!
