Match no 25. A wonderful game. Byrne scored first for West Ham only for Jimmy Greaves to equalise with a penalty for Spurs. Hammers went 3-1 ahead through Brabrook and Sissons, who ran from deep in his own half before scoring with a low drive. Almost immediately Terry Venables made it 2-3 with a long-range shot. Then Greaves missed a chance to equalise by hitting a second penalty over the bar. Hammers led 3-2 at half-time, Spurs equalised through Gilzean but Hurst won it for West Ham by finishing off a great move near the end.
