Match no. 11. First senior first-team match attended. Went with a friend from school called Steve Cockbill (he moved away the following summer so this was one of only two games I went to with him). Gil Reece opened the scoring for the Blades after 3 minutes with Joe Baker equalising 8 minutes later. Goals from George Armstrong and Alan Skirton put Arsenal 3-1 ahead and then Baker scored his second on the stroke of half-time. Armstrong then made it 5-1 on 49 minutes before Skirton scored Arsenal''s sixth and Mick Jones completed the scoring. The game was on Match of the Day that evening, in the days when only one game was shown.
