What a game !!! Second only to Peterborough away in 92. Never again in my lifetime will I see my team outplay and hold the current European Champions and FA Cup holders. Never seeing a top 4 team at close quarters before I hadn't appreciated how much better these players are individually. As a team though the Bees were head and shoulders above their more illustrious near neighbours. Chelsea started comfortably and controlled the first 15 mins without creating much. Then a John Terry wayward back pass was picked up by the keeper Turnbull. No yellow card for the keeper and the free kick was touched to Forrester who blasted over. From that point on the half belonged to the home side with Forshaw shooting narrowly wide and Forrester shooting on sight before the Bees edged in front 3 mins before HT. Forshaw winning the ball back from Lampard the ball fell to Forrester 20 yards out. His shot was only parried into the path of Trotta who made no mistake from 8 yards to send 10,000 home fans into dreamland. Chelsea brought Matta on at HT and with his added class Chelsea began the second half stronger and it didn't take long for them to equalise through Oscar. The kept going though and played some nice football on a terrible surface. Adeyemi was brought on and within minutes he surged into the area and was clipped by Turnbull. Penalty !! Up stepped Forrester to cooly slot home past the keeper who had guessed the right way. The unthinkable was back on !! We brought on Barron to tighten it up and Chelsea brought on Ba to add fire power with the latter bearing fruit. Ba ultimately winning a tackle which fell to Torres who instinctively finished from 20 yards. Saunders was brought to liven up the attack again but apart from a handball scare deep into stoppage time when the ball struck Deans arm, there was no more goalmouth action. MOTM for me was Douglas but everyone was outstanding today. So, to Stamford Bridge we go to enjoy another game against the European Champions. We're coming for you !! We're coming for you !!
